"Silent Night"
CHRISTMAS IN MY HEART
I remember Christmas, was it so long ago?
I would awaken, the yard covered with snow,
My stocking was filled with fruit and candy canes,
Not diamonds nor riches nor golden rings.
Oh, we had a tree with presents galore,
Only a few, if any, came from a store,
Our house was filled with a warm Christmas scent,
Not Mom explaning to Dad about the money she had spent.
My Mom and my sisters had cooked through the night ,
When the table was ready, it was a wonderful delight,
Dad sat at one end; Mom at the other,
There in the middle, me, the dog, my sisters, and brother.
I want to spend Christmas in the days like before,
Where it lives in the heart, Not In A Wal-Mart Store.
